These businesses are Social Enterprise initiatives that support Work For The Soul to continue the provision of community programs and services, with the added bonus of reducing landfill and waste.  Our aim is to become independant and financially sustainable through these activities

Penny Pinchers Op Shop Showroom

Positioned in the heart of our Community Centre Penny Pinchers has a variety of goods, clothes, shoes, toys, bric a brac and kitchenware available at very affordable prices.

You never know what you can find in an Op Shop and Penny Pinchers is no exception! We aim to keep a large amount of our goods with prices as low as possible.  We also have a selection of labels and brand names that we sell online via our social media platforms.  It's through these proceeds that we are able to make the sales that helps us remain financially viable. All with the added bonus of minimizing landfill and reducing the carbon footprint.

Bags are available in store from our Penny Pinchers Op Shop, selected local markets, Grinders Coffee in Lygon Street. Partnerships have now been established for distribution interstate.

The Old Jam Jar Café (Training Café)

Our Learn & Advance Training Course has been developed to deliver training in employability skills that we know are needed to gain real employment in todays workforce.

Through this Social Enterprise program we will assist marginalised people with supported pathways to employment. Our holistic programs aim to provide improved mental health and well-being, vocational skills, and links to other support service providers which will compliment the other core modules of the course.

Grinders Coffee are genorously providing the coffee making training and Work For Soul are developing employer relationships to create a data base of employers who are committed to offering jobs to participants that have successfully completed the course and are deemed to be job ready.

Volunteer Opportunities

Do you love coffee and want experience in the hospitality industry? Through the support of Grinders Coffee, we are able to provide training to Volunteers in our Training Café.  This opportunity is only available to Volunteers who are willing and committed to complete an agreed number of shifts on our Café Roster.
